Bloomberg News to host telecom conference

February 28, 2002--The March 6 event will be highlighted by a keynote from FCC commissioner Kathleen Abernathy.

Bloomberg News (www.bloomberg.com) will present its seventh annual Telecom Day Conference on Wednesday, March 6 at the organization's Park Avenue headquarters in New York City. The event will feature presentations from corporate leaders and investment officers, Bloomberg says, and will provide insight into what is in store for the global telecommunications services industry.

Kathleen Abernathy, a commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission, will deliver the keynote. A luncheon panel discussion will focus on the forecast for cable-television-industry consolidation.

Among the speakers at the conference will be ADC Telecommunications chief financial officer Bob Switz; Avaya chief executive officer Donald Peterson; and Corning chief executive officer John Loose.
