August 30, 2006 -- To its harsh-environment, waterproof, and industrial IP67 line of cables, connectors, and adapters, L-com announced that it now also carries a line of fiber-optic and Category 5e Ethernet cable assemblies that come pre-terminated with IP67 water seal grommets at either end.
The company says its FODLCG and TRD855WTG cable product lines, which come in various lengths, are "perfect off-the-shelf solutions" for allowing cables to pass through openings while keeping water out. The company is now manufacturing and stocking these cables domestically in order to offer same-day shipping.
The grommets are also available for making custom cable assemblies. The company says it will distribute these sealing grommets with no minimum order quantity required, to benefit electrical or design engineers who may be prototyping and specifying new products.
Retail pricing for the products is under $100, says the company. Along with the off-the-shelf enclosure product that L-com stocks for same-day shipments, the company also announced that other options, including heated and cooled units, 220 VAC, 12 VDC, and Power-over-Ethernet (POE) models are also available by request.
