December 12, 2007 -- Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a supplier of 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) switches, announced that it widely tested and verified interoperability of its products in multi-vendor 10-GbE fabrics during the recent 10 Gigabit Ethernet Technology Summit conducted by the third-party University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL).
Fujitsu says the lab setting provided an ideal environment for proving the readiness of 10-GbE technology for deployment in data centers. The testing verified interoperability between many companies' 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches, cables, 10GBASE-T data ports and iSCSI storage devices, the primary components of a "unified fabric" using high-performance Ethernet for data and storage in critical high-end networks.

The UNH-IOL's 10 Gigabit Ethernet Technology Summit test plans encompassed multiple components of 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks, including LRM, SFP+ and XFP optical interconnects, CX4 copper, backplane Ethernet ports, iSCSI targets and initiators, iWARP and RDMA services, 10-GBASE-T devices and 10 GbE switching.
