July 29, 2009 -- The board of directors of Valdor Technology International Inc. reports that its development of a new LC connector, which uses Valdor's patented Impact Mount technology, is now complete. Following completion of the final quality control testing, Valdor says it will begin marketing the LC connector in conjunction with the company's field installable hand tool kits.
The LC connector has a variety of applications but is most commonly used in the telecom industry, especially for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC), where smaller, high density connectors are required.

With the completion of the LC connector Valdor says its now holds a complete portfolio of the conventional and most used field installable connectors: the ST, SC, FC, SP and SMA. In addition to these conventional connectors, Valdor carries the proprietary SP harsh environment connector, the SP miniature connector, and HeptoPort 7-Fiber Bundle connector. The full line of connectors incorporates the user friendly, environmentally friendly Impact Mount technology, says the company.
According to Valdor, the Impact Mount technology used in the new LC connector is all-mechanical, with no epoxy or index matching gel. Further, Valdor's HeptoPort technology utilizes the concept of two dimensional (2D) fiber optic self-alignment for interconnection applications. Valdor says its patented Impact Mount and HeptoPort technologies are ideal for harsh environment and small space applications in the field.
