Anixter launches data center virtual forum, online seminars

The distributor's new web-based platform offers live, interactive virtual conferences intended to improve customers' skills and knowledge related to data centers.

Anixter (NYSE: AXE) has announced the launch of its Virtual Engagement Center. This Web-based platform will offer live, interactive virtual conferences intended to improve customers' skills and knowledge related to data centers, while providing a forum to virtually connect with colleagues, manufacturer representatives, and Anixter's own experts.

Accessible from the comfort and convenience of a workplace, home office or remote location, the distributor says its Virtual Data Center Seminar Series offers a dynamic presentation format and live panel discussions covering topics deemed most pressing to contractors, integrators, end-users, architects, consultants and engineers -- from sustainability and the green movement to physical security and data center infrastructure.

The inaugural, live virtual seminar event will be held on May 17 at 10:30 CDT, and will address how physical infrastructure can affect the reliable delivery of data center services. Panelists for the first event will include: Patrick McLaughlin, Chief Editor, Cabling Installation & Maintenance Magazine; Jonathan Jew, President at J&M Consultants, Inc; and Andy Jimenez, Vice President of Technology, Anixter.

Subsequent seminars will address the need for secure and energy-efficient data centers. The full schedule of online seminar events is as follows:
