National codes bolster public-safety DAS installations

DAS Forum article investigates the importance of recent codes with regard to safely deploying optimal wireless coverage inside buildings.

A single-sheet PDF article made available by the DAS Forum investigates how two recent codes, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1 public-safety radio code and the International Fire Code (IFC), address in-building wireless coverage for voice-based public-safety communications at 800 MHz. The article notes the importance of good working relationships among public-safety officials, cellular operators, building owners and DAS service experts, the better to foster optimal wireless coverage inside buildings, while mitigating risk for emergency first responders.
