A number of companies have received fraudulent requests for quotations and fraudulent purchase orders from an individual misrepresenting himself as an Accounts Payable Manager at Anixter.
On October 30, Anixter issued a fraud alert on its website, warning customers against unauthorized requests for quotations and purchase orders. In the interest of clarity, the message from the communication and security products distributor is re-produced below in its entirety:
Fraud Alert: Unauthorized Requests for Quotations and Purchase Orders
It has come to our attention that a number of companies have received fraudulent requests for quotations and also fraudulent purchase orders from an individual using the name Thomas Riddle and misrepresenting himself as an Accounts Payable Manager at Anixter. The email addresses this individual is using are [email protected] and [email protected]. This individual is attempting to order products and have them shipped to what he is claiming are Anixter locations but in reality are typically residential addresses all over the United States. This individual upon request is also submitting bank and D&B information for Anixter.

This individual has no connection to Anixter and is using our name and logo solely for the purpose of committing fraud. If you receive any correspondence from an email address ending in anixtercorp.com please do not respond. If you have any questions regarding the validity of a purchase order please call 1.800.323.8167.
Anixter's Legal Department is working with federal authorities, as well as the companies involved with the registration of the domain name anixtercorp.com and the associated email addresses in order to put a stop to this fraudulent activity.
