Corning Cable Systems has added several new dates and locations for its TS AFOTT-200 course, entitled Advanced Fiber Optic Testing and Troubleshooting. The hands-on course covers optical singlemode and multimode fiber-optic networks.
The course will be offered at Corning Cable Systems’ Hickory, NC facility on the following dates.
- October 18-19
- November 19-20
- December 4-5
It also will be offered at the following places and times.
- Boston, MA – October 23-24
- Keller, TX – October 30-31 and November 1-2
- Rochester, NY – November 6-7
- Palo Alto, CA – November 13-14
- Toronto, ON – December 12-13
The courses in Hickory cost $799 per student and those held elsewhere cost $899 per student. The maximum class size is 12. Students with the following BICSI professional credentials will earn 14 continuing education credits (CECs) toward renewal of those credential by successfully completing the course: RCDD, RITP, OSP, Installer 2, Technician, Certified Trainer.
The company says the class “goes beyond the basic functions of a light source and power meter and optical time-domain reflectometer, and prepares the craftsperson for optical fiber network acceptance testing and troubleshooting. The course is loaded with practical exercises and extensive hands-on training to equip the installers with the skills required to perform detailed link-loss testing by practicing on simulated fiber-optic systems using a light source and power meter, and OTDR. This class is designed for those who desire advanced testing skills and knowledge.”
