Greenlee Communications has introduced its Tele-Mate Pro 700 (TM-700) telephone test set.

Greenlee Communications has introduced its Tele-Mate Pro 700 (TM-700) telephone test set. Key features of the new product include a built-in tone generator for pair tracing, DTMF [Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency] detection and measurement, and a new “dog-bone” design.

Greenlee says the TM-700 is designed to help both skilled and apprentice technicians debug a variety of telecom problems with ease. The instrument is DSL-compatible in both 'Monitor' and 'Talk' modes, and measures data such as polarity, voltage, current, and ringing frequencies.

Ten programmable speed-dial memories can be set and ten last dialed/received numbers can be stored in the unit. Calling Line ID decoding is supported for Bell, ETSI, and DTMF systems. A SmartIntercom feature can connect to other Greenlee Communications Tele-Mate devices over “dead pair” wires.

The TM-700 is powered by a single pair of AA cells, which last longer than its predecessor’s PP3 battery, and comes with built-in language support for English, French, Spanish, German, Turkish, and Italian.

“We wanted to improve on the success we had with the TM-500 and the PE830,” says Mark Govier, product manager for Greenlee. “By adding more speed-dials, a longer lasting battery, and an improved, ambidextrous ‘dog bone’ design we were able to achieve this.”
