Lens antenna supports E-band backhaul applications

Radio Gigabit has integrated its lens antenna technology with Siklu’s E-band radio in a product aimed at the exploding millimeter-wave backhaul market.

Radio Gigabit (Moscow, Russia), a developer of antenna technologies for millimeter-wave communication systems, has introduced a lens antenna for E-band backhaul applications.

Radio Gigabit has partnered with Siklu Communication, a vendor of E-band radios, to integrate its lens antenna with the Siklu’s E-band radio. Siklu took part at the recent 2013 Mobile World Congress (Feb.25-28) exhibition in Barcelona, where it showcased its millimeter wave systems equipped with a Radio Gigabit's lens antenna.

According to the companies, the patent-pending lens antenna's technology provides a combination of high gain, small form factor, excellent performance, and superior cost-efficiency to meet the requirements of the exploding millimeter-wave backhaul market. With the new product launch, the two companies say they will evaluate the augmented lens antenna's performance and market potential.
