National IT infrastructure and data center cloud services provider Peak 10 Inc. (Charlotte, NC) has been selected by open source technology specialist Red Hat, Inc. to provide a co-location site for Red Hat’s IT, networking and engineering environments. Red Hat will utilize Peak 10’s data center infrastructure to help maintain the availability and security of the three environments, in which the testing, management and delivery of its open source platforms take place for customers around the world.
To help support the technologies that Red Hat delivers to its customers, Peak 10 is also supplying the company with a private test lab for its research and development team, where it tests applications prior to their release.
“Moving significant parts of our IT infrastructure to Peak 10 to support our global service delivery made its team an extension of our team, allowing us to concentrate on our core competencies and scale our business more rapidly,” comments Lee Congdon, CIO of Red Hat. “Peak 10 collaborated with us to design a solution that best fits our needs. By outsourcing to Peak 10, we have already experienced efficiencies and cost savings that we expect will have a positive impact on our bottom line.”

Peak 10 now serves as one of the hubs for Red Hat’s Americas IT network. Data and applications from Red Hat’s U.S. data centers feed into Peak 10’s facility, which plugs directly into Red Hat’s global network of data centers.
The North Carolina company notes that its network has the redundancy, proper environmental controls and security measures that Red Hat requires to serve its customers across the globe. Additionally, Peak 10’s geographic footprint and numerous data centers provide opportunities for the company to accommodate Red Hat’s IT infrastructure needs as they change.
