Panduit unveils PanMPO connector for easier 10G to 40G data center transitions

June 24, 2013
At Cisco Live in Orlando, Panduit will showcase its new PanMPO 12-fiber connector, designed to allow for polarity and gender to be changed in the field.

At this year’s Cisco Live event in Orlando, FL (June 23-27), Panduit will showcase its new PanMPO 12-fiber connector, designed to allow for polarity and gender to be changed in the field, simplifying data center migration from 10 Gigabit Ethernet to 40 Gigabit Ethernet.

Migrating from 10G Ethernet networks to 40G networks has been a complicated and confusing process for end-users until now, contends the company. An existing 10G installation might require two different MPO patch cords to transition to 40G. This could lead to confusion over which patch cord to use. Patch cords using the Panduit PanMPO connector allow technicians to change the polarity and gender as needed, at a moment’s notice, eliminating confusion.

“This new connector radically simplifies the transition from 10G Ethernet to 40G Ethernet because only one type of MPO patch cord is required to accommodate any configuration,” comments Andrew Caveney, senior vice president of global marketing at Panduit.

The PanMPO connector will be available in August 2013. To learn more and see a demonstration of how the connector simplifies migration from 10G to 40G Ethernet, visit Panduit's booth #939 at Cisco Live in Orlando. More information can be found at www.panduit.com/PanMPO.
