Support hardware joins sections of basket tray without splicing

Sept. 24, 2013
WB Technologies says its WBT No Splice achieves installation-time savings of nearly 94 percent by eliminating the need to splice.

The WBT No Splice from WB Technologies is a patent-pending support-hardware design for basket tray that the company says works as both a support and a tray splice point. The design is available on the company’s most popular ceiling and wall supports, it says.

“Since basket tray was introduced, installers have become accustomed to splicing tray sections end to end—over and over again,” the company said when announcing the redesigned product. It added that when using the WBT No Splice, “time savings on installation nears 94 percent, while also eliminating the material cost of the splice hardware.”

The support/splice product works with WB Technologies’ patented shaped wire, as well as with round wire, the company said, also noting that it ensures a consistent splice for any tray width.
