New product group includes MPO/MTP patch cords, trunk assemblies, fan-out assemblies and related distribution hardware.

Megladon (Austin, TX) has announced the release of a full suite of MPO/MTP products designed to support the next generation of high-density fiber networks in data centers. The new product group includes MPO/MTP patch cords, trunk assemblies, fan-out assemblies and related distribution hardware.

Included in the distribution hardware release is a High Density option that allows for the highest density deployment of fibers currently available in the industry, claims the company. The Megladon High Density MPO rack mount panel and cassettes transition MPO style connectors to duplex LC pairs, allowing for direct connection to network resources. Up to 144 LC connectors can be deployed in a single rack unit. The MPO fiber cassettes are also available in the standard LGX footprint.

“The new MPO product group was created to make Megladon a key player in high density fiber deployments, and allows us to create complete solutions for our customers,” comments Daniel Hogberg, RCDD, Megladon’s engineering manager. “We can support growth in the data center markets with the MPO cables and cassettes, and compliment existing single fiber connectors that we manufacture with the HLC process.”

Founded in 1997, Megladon Manufacturing Group Ltd., a subsidiary of TyRex Group Ltd., is a notable supplier in the global fiber-optic marketplace. As technology innovators, Megladon created the HLC (Hardened Lens Contact) termination.
