Greenlee has enhanced its Sidekick Plus multifunction test set with improved test set-up capabilities, along with faster speed of test and longer battery life. The product enhancements are intended to help today’s telecom engineers diagnose and troubleshoot problems with twisted-pair cable in a manner that's "faster, safer and easier than before," says the company.

Also, the new Sidekick Plus now has a 1 Gigaohm insulation resistance test, an optional suite of Wideband Spectrum analysis tests, and an option for VDSL/ ADSL sync and service tests. It also now comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack. The test set's standard features include: stress test, Volt-ohm meter (VOM), loop current tests, longitudinal balance, transmission and noise tests, open meter, load coil detection, Resistive Fault Locate (RFL) and a Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR).
