On Wednesday, January 16, Cabling Installation & Maintenance will host a web-delivered seminar, approximately one hour in duration, entitled “Cabling and Wireless Options for Healthcare Facilities.” As the seminar’s title indicates, it will focus on the connectivity needs within such environments.
A description of the seminar explains, “Facilities in which healthcare is provided, particularly hospitals, have unique and demanding requirements of their communications infrastructures. What constitutes a workspace in these facilities is far different from what is found in an office, factory or data center environment. The critical needs within these healthcare ‘workspaces,’ as well as a facility’s sensitivity to disturbance associated with network changes, require significant forethought and planning regarding the deployment of a communications infrastructure.”
The seminar will comprise the following three presentations.
- Standards and Best Practices for Healthcare Cabling—delivered by Cindy Montstream, director of e-learning and standards for Legrand|Ortronics
- Blown Fiber Systems for Healthcare—delivered by Kurt Templeman, director of enterprise networks for Sumitomo Electric Lightwave
- Wireless Connectivity in Healthcare Facilities—delivered by Scott D. Thompson, engineering director and co-founder of Oberon Inc.
The seminar will be presented live at 1pm EST on January 16th, then available for on-demand viewing for six months thereafter. Individuals who hold any of BICSI’s ITS professional credentials can earn one continuing education credit (CEC) toward renewal of those credentials by attending the seminar in its entirety.
