Anritsu says it has won a contract from Openreach, BT's [British Telecom's] access network division, for the supply of fiber-optic test equipment to support the deployment of high-speed fiber-optic networks. Anritsu will supply more than 1,000 units of its MT9090A Network Master tester under the contract, to measure the quality of fiber-optic cable and connections in order to verify installation.
The combination of performance and form-factor for the Network Master makes it an ideal piece of equipment for this type of testing, which has been chosen for testing some of the world’s most advanced fiber access network deployments, the vendor asserts.
Michael Spatny, general manager for Anritsu in the EMEA region comments, “Anritsu is extremely proud to be selected to supply BT with our Network Master, demonstrating Anritsu’s leading position in the supply of fiber-optic test equipment and supporting BT in the deployment of advanced fiber-optic networks.”
The MT9090A is targeted at FTTx applications, notes Anritsu. The tester provides "industry leading capability in a unique compact size" that is suited to making measurements out at the installation site; the unit features a dynamic range of 37 dB, together with the company's newly released "Fibre Visualiser" software to present the reading and analysis of test results in an easy-to-use and informative visual block diagram.
