The International Champions Cup brings eight top international soccer clubs into competition in U.S. stadiums from July 24 through August 4. The teams will play three games each in a round-robin format, with the two top teams facing off on August 4 in Miami. Matches will be held at several stadiums equipped with TE DAS, including:

-- FedEx Field in Hyattsville, Md.
-- Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas
-- Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y.
-- Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
-- Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
-- Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
According to a tier-one service provider, major U.S. sporting events have driven as much as 1.9 terabytes of data usage by spectators, representing a year-over-year increase in wireless traffic of 800 percent. TE says its DAS products are a prime choice for major sports stadiums and arenas because they are easy to deploy and upgrade, and deliver the highest possible performance.
“Mobile devices are an integral part of sporting and entertainment events and fans expect access to all of their services from their seats,” comments Peter Wraight, president of TE Wireless. "Stadium owners and mobile operators choose our DAS solutions because they deliver the best possible user experience.”
