The maker of conduit and cable-in-conduit will increase Mexichem’s reach into telecom, datacom and energy markets.

Conduit and cable-in-conduit manufacturer Dura-Line is being acquired by Mexichem, Dura-Line announced, in a deal that is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2014. Dura-Line is based in Knoxville, TN with manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, India, Oman, Europe, and South Africa. Currently Dura-Line is owned by private-equity firm CHS Capital.

Mexichem’s chief executive officer Antonio Carrillo stated, “The acquisition of Dura-Line is a further step in our strategy of becoming a global, vertically integrated chemical company with a focus on high-end specialized products and solutions.” In addition to conduit, Dura-Line produces duct and pressure-pipe solutions that serve telecom and datacom industries as well as energy and infrastructure industries. Carrillo continued, “Dura-Line’s technological expertise and leading market position in telecom, data communications and energy piping, including its portfolio of blue-chip customers, will allow us to expand in these fast-growing segments across our global operations. Dura-Line’s international footprint will allow our integral solutions business to increase penetration in key markets, and will also provide a platform for growth in new geographies for all of Mexichem’s products.”

Paresh Chari, Dura-Line’s president and chief executive officer, added, “We are pleased to become part of Mexichem’s global team. Joining an organization with Mexichem’s scale will provide strong support for our existing operations and brands, and will enhance the future growth of the business.”
