Belden's REVConnect system recognized by NSCA for contractor-friendly installation efficiency

March 15, 2017
NSCA and Commercial Integrator magazine recently honored products that positively impact system integrators.

Belden announced that its REVConnect connectivity system has received an 'Excellence in Product Innovation Award' from the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) and Commercial Integrator magazine. Presented to manufacturers that produce low-voltage products for installation by commercial integrators, the award recognized Belden's REVConnect system in the judging's 'Installer Friendly' category.

This is REVConnect’s third award, following the Platinum Innovators Award that Belden received from Cabling Installation & Maintenancein September 2016, and the Top New Technology (TNT) Award received from Commercial Integrator in February 2017. The judging panel was comprised of a Commercial Integrator magazine editor, NSCA’s executive director, and representatives from four integration firms. Solutions that stand out for installation, interoperability, revenue potential and ease of customization were honored.

Winners were announced at NSCA’s 19th annual Business & Leadership Conference on March 2 in Chandler, AZ.

“We are honored to accept this award from NSCA and Commercial Integrator,” says Belden's product manager, Copper/Fiber Connectivity, Matt Baum. “REVConnect’s recent accolades are a testament to our commitment to developing reliable, easy-to-use and innovative connectivity solution for next-generation applications.”

Released in September 2016, Belden's REVConnect is billed by the company as "a revolutionary new RJ45 connectivity system unlike any other. Before the launch of REVConnect, RJ45 connections required a lengthy and arduous punch-down or single-wire crimping process. Now, Ethernet cables of all types (Category 5e through Category 6A, shielded and unshielded) can terminate onto a single “core” end that is compatible with eight RJ45 modules, including jacks and plugs. Before REVConnect, an entire bag of tools was needed to support terminations required for each connector type. Now, one REVConnect tool completes the entire process – including cable prep – simplifying termination and reducing installation time."

According to Belden, "REVConnect was created to address a critical need: providing integrators with reliable, easy and versatile terminations that support IP convergence over a range of applications, from wired LANs to digital signage, mixing consoles, building automation and LED lighting systems."
