Addressing the challenges of high-den-sity installations, where a large volume of optical-fiber cables and patch cords must be managed in cabinets storing modular switches, Chatsworth Products (CPI; www.chatsworth.com) and Corning Cable Systems (www.corningcablesystems.com) have teamed up to produce the CPI Fiber Management System.

The CPI Fiber Management System, a joint effort involving Chatsworth Products and Corning Cable Systems, is designed to significantly reduce cabling volume in high-density installations.

Used with CPI’s TeraFrame family of cabinets, the system is designed to support Corning Cable Systems’ Zero-U plug-and-play solution that includes pre-terminated optical-fiber trunk cables, modules, and harness assemblies. The companies say the solution is designed to significantly reduce the amount of spaceoccupied by cabling in cabinets, accelerate speed of initial deployment of high-density data centers and storage area networks (SAN), improve air circulation, and simplify future moves, adds, and changes. The combinedsolutions are also designed to eliminate 77% of bulk cabling in the SAN cabinet vertical manager and director backplane.

The system includes a fiber trunk cable manager, vertical furcation bracket, horizontal furcation bracket, fiber module bracket, and universal accessory rail. Fiber module adapterand swivel cable spool accessories are also available.
