October 9, 2008 -- In support of the American Cancer Society's breast cancer awareness effort, CXtec, a provider of new and pre-owned networking and technology equipment, is hosting its annual Cables for a Cure campaign throughout the month. This is the sixth year the company is running the campaign.
CXtec will donate 5 cents from every stock-length copper cable patch cable and 50 cents from every stock-length CABLExpress-brand fiber jumper sold in October. Additionally, the company will sell pins (pictured) and window clings to help the effort.
"CXtec employees are very enthusiastic about supporting this cause because it brings awareness to an illness that is near and dear to the hearts of many of our employees," said Barbara Ashkin, chief operating officer.
The company will also send a pink ribbon cable pin or a window cling to any customer making a qualifying purchase during the month. The pin is intended to signify the "Making Strides" pink ribbon symbol that honors breast-cancer survivors and honors those lost to the disease, and to support the search for a cure.
