Crazy dreams: Cabling photos

Sept. 9, 2022
A technician's view into the dark underbelly of ICT infrastructure can sometimes start to seem like an insane, brightly colored nightmare.

Just a tad early for Halloween, to some recent posters of photos to Reddit's 'cablefail' and 'cablegore' subcommunities, frequented by those in the installation and maintenance end of the information and communications technology (ICT) trade, the career's unadulterated view into the dark underbelly of communications infrastructure can sometimes start to seem like a bit of an insane, brightly colored nightmare. But don't take our word for it...

Chaotic, yet also hypnotic. Fascinating...

More unwanted creativity in color-coding -- is this a trend?

According to the original poster (OP) here, this minor abomination happened at an active job site...where it was actively screwed up...before being actively fixed...

From the Dept. of Tough Love, Division of Teachable Moments, comes this RJ-45 enshrinement...

Nice (ahem) "smart" home.

More nightmarish residential cable gore.

Stupefying.

Call the school nurse. The project has throw up all over the floor.
