Enemy of the good: Cabling photos

Oct. 28, 2022
As a wise person (probably someone working on the clock, on a schedule, and under a tight deadline) once aphorized, "Perfect is the enemy of good." ICT techs on social media can often sympathize with that assessment.

If remotely achievable, aiming for perfection is great -- of course we should all strive for perfection. But as a wise person (probably someone working on the clock, on a schedule, and under a tight deadline) once aphorized, "Perfect is the enemy of good."

Structured cabling and connectivity contractors and installers in the information and communications technology (ICT) arena can sympathize -- and often do, in Reddit's technical sub-community dedicated to sharing success stories from the ICT and IT trades via images captured in the field -- both before and after the job.

Looking pretty fine from here, chief.

Very cool. Let me hear you say 28 AWG...

An immaculate piece...

...of tut-tut bait for people complaining in the Comments about the usage of zip ties...

A before-and-after look at a few feasts on rack cabling spaghetti. Nice work.

Our Cabling Cup now runneth over. [Ed. note (to self) -- Good name for potential cabling photos awards competition?]

A provocative ask, given the standards of this this crowd. The kid's alright though.

More network closet clean up before-and-after goodness.

Just as pretty as a picture. And, in the immortal words of Batman, Nice coat.

It's a spaghetti dinner and this tech brought the cheddar.

Pass the sauce, if you will. The gravy, as some say.
