May 5, 2009--Berk-Tek, a Nexans Company, is providing customers independent ETL Verification of LANmark cable performance, which it says "significantly exceeds the TIA/EIA-568-B.2 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards that have traditionally served as the industry benchmarks." The company says it is the first manufacturer to develop this program at the component level, which focuses on the LANmark family of Category 5e, 6 and 6a cables.

Berk-Tek also says it is the first manufacturer to utilize third-party verification to certify that the claimed cable performance is being met. Testing is performed by Intertek, the world's largest independent testing, inspection and certification provider, and proprietor of the ETL Verification Mark. As part of an ongoing verification program, samples are randomly selected from Berk-Tek's (New Holland, PA) manufacturing floor by an Intertek employee and evaluated per the requirements of the program.

Official ETL test reports for each electrical characteristic on each cable are available at: www.berktek.com
