St. Louis, Mo. -- ShowMeCables has introduced a selection of patch cables based on the Cat 6a Ethernet standard, now available for purchase from the company’s Web site.

The company notes that its Cat 6a patch cables are capable of data transmission speeds of up to 10 gigabits/second over longer distances than existing Cat 6 technology permits. Each Cat 6a cable employs four pairs of shielded twisted pairs (STPs), allowing for long-distance yet reliable data transmission. The Cat 6a cables are also DTE power compliant, allow for performance past 600 mhz, and support the EEE 802.3af standard.
