Belden has opened a new Fiber Technology Center in Tucson, Arizona, “which will enable continued leadership in and commitment to optical fiber, as digital transformation accelerates demand for the bandwidth fiber offers”.
The facility will facilitate fiber and connectivity innovation, as well as research and development. On top of this, the center will also serve as a place of warehousing, distribution, administration, and manufacturing.
Belden’s Tucson Fiber Technology Center is a new addition to the company’s eight manufacturing plants and two research and development sites. Belden states that this facility will “amplify the work being done in the company’s existing fiber facilities and test labs around the world”.
The facility is smartly located next to airports, freight terminals, logistics hubs, and the University of Arizona, which according to the company will not only streamline and strengthen its supply chain and increase production, but also bring jobs to the area.
Among the benefits to customers are: quicker distribution to customers on the west coast of the U.S., Fiber Express fiber assemblies being made and shipped within two to five business days, and same-day shipping on certain fiber cables and connectivity products.
