R&M Introduces New Fiber Splice Closures With High Fiber Density

March 7, 2025
R&M’s latest fiber splice closures can be resealed, making them quick and easy to change for future applications.

R&M recently announced that it is expanding its line of SYNO fiber optic splice closures “so that telecom companies can compact their infrastructures and expand Fiber-to-the-Home offerings in a variety of ways”. The SYNO-S fiber optic splice closures can be resealed, this makes it so that the wiring can be retrofitted, densified, or changed as needed in preparation for future applications. These fiber splice closures are made to handle challenging outdoor environments and can be utilized in both underground and aerial cabling. They also are certified in accordance with the stringent telecom standard Telcordia GR-771®.

“The new S-400 and S-500 fiber optic outdoor splice closures and their high-density variants support several configurations at the same time. Single fiber splices, ribbon fiber splices and splitters can be combined on up to eight stacked tray modules.” The S-500/HD splice closure has a maximum configuration with space for up to 3,456 ribbon fiber splices. The SYNO fiber splice closures’ eight lead-in segments can be utilized for all common cable types including ribbon cables. Technicians have the flexibility of configuring the splice closures on site as needed, and the mounting of the cable entries, trays, splice and splitter holders, do not require special tools.
