Online Configurator for Preterminated Fiber Cables

Excel Networking customers choose fiber type and count, breakouts, and connectors, then order the cables online.

Excel Networking, a UK-based manufacturer of copper and fiber-optic cabling systems that serves more than 70 countries, now offers a configurator on its website for preterminated fiber-optic cables from its Enbeam product line. The company describes the Enbeam Fibre Configurator as “a powerful online tool designed to make configuring and ordering preterminated fibre cables faster and easier.”

Users follow a three-step process:

  1. Choose the cable, including construction type, fiber type, and fiber count
  2. Select the breakouts
  3. Choose the connectors required at each end

“Our team has developed an intuitive configurator that guides users,” through these steps, commented Excel technical services manager Richard Cann. “To enhance the customer experience, the configurator generates a detailed 3D model of the selected cable as it is built. This interactive feature allows users to zoom, rotate, and inspect the cable from any angle.

Additionally, a QR code can be scanned to view the cable on a smartphone for added convenience.”

After the configuration is complete, users can download a spec sheet and inquire with Excel’s sales team online. “Each order is then expertly assembled at our Birmingham headquarters, rigorously tested, and shipped in plastic-free packaging as a plug-and-play solution,” Cann concluded.

The Excel brand is owned by Mayflex. UK customers ordering through Mayflex can find the configuration on the Mayflex webshop.
