Video Products Inc. (VPI) has announced the addition of three surge protectors to its Power Products line. The new units protect connected equipment from high voltage surges.
All three surge protectors now offered by VPI have built-in ESD [electrostatic discharge] protection as well as nearby lightning strike protection:
The SP-RJ45-10G 10Gbps RJ45 Ethernet Surge Protector has four pair protection for a wide range of applications, including TCP/IP devices, networks, switch hubs, PC modems, servers, CCTV systems, and IP cameras. It uses special diodes and gas discharge modules for high performance lightning protection.
The SP-POE-WTP Waterproof Gigabit Power over Ethernet (POE) Surge Protector features an enclosure that provides IP66-rated waterproofing, and has a pass through data rate of 10/100/1000Base-T Mbps.
The SP-HD HDMI Surge Protector additionally provides EFT (electrical fast transient) impulse noise protection.
To provide complete nearby lightning strike protection, two surge protectors must be connected together using a CAT5/5e/6/6a/7/8 cable. The SP-RJ45-10G and SP-POE-WTP are compatible and can be used together to provide complete protection.
Available for immediate sale, the SP-RJ45-10G 10Gbps RJ45 Ethernet Surge Protector costs $45.00, the SP-POE-WTP Waterproof Gigabit POE Surge Protector costs $98.00, and the SP-HD HDMI Surge Protector costs $36.00.
