Stewart Connector, a Bel group company and manufacturer of high-speed connectors used in data communication applications, has introduced its Category 8.2 series, consisting of cable-mounted, field-terminatable keystone jacks and cable assemblies (i.e. patch cords) that support future Ethernet speeds of 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T over copper twisted pair cable.

The new cable jacks and assemblies are designed to exceed Category 8.2 performance standards up to 2 GHz as defined by ISO/IEC 11801-1 Class II and can support 100W PoE applications in a 30-meter channel. The Category 8.2 series expands Stewart Connector’s ARJ45 Category 7a product line to the next standard level and makes the series among the highest performing twisted pair interconnect systems available for Ethernet connectivity, contends the company.

Stewart notes its ARJ45 connectors offer end-to-end pair isolation and utilize individually shielded pair cable, minimizing internal and alien crosstalk. The company bills its Cat 8.2 series as a cost-effective solution for data centers looking to upgrade their data transmission speeds without switching over to more costly fiber-optic systems.

Stewart's Category 8.2 series offers versions for Ethernet networking, military communications, industrial equipment interfaces, and other high-speed and high-noise networking protocols. The Category 8.2 cable jacks and cable assemblies are in stock with the following distributors: Digi-Key; Mouser; and Newark.
