Lantronix recently completed the acquisition of Transition Networks and Net2Edge, closing a deal that had been announced earlier in 2021. Transition Networks and Net2Edge previously had been owned by Communications Systems Inc., which shifted its focus to the home solar industry upon its merger with Pineapple Energy. Lantronix describes itself as a global provider of software as a service (SaaS), connectivity services, engineering services, intelligent hardware, and turnkey solutions for Internet of Things and remote environment management (REM).
“The transaction will bring immediate scale to Lantronix, with revenues from the combined company expected to total more than $100 million on an annual basis,” Lantronix said when announcing the deal’s closing. “The acquisition will bring complementary IoT connectivity products and capabilities, including switching, Power over Ethernet, and media conversion and adapter products.”
The company added that it “sees significant operating and product development synergies in the combined company and … expects to realize $7 million in annual run rate synergies over the course of the first 24 months.”
On its website, Lantronix explains its “services and solutions deliver a holistic approach to address its customers’ needs by integrating software and application development, a SaaS management platform, intelligent edge computing, wired, WiFi, and cellular embedded modules and external devices, as well as a wide range of sensors and trackers.”
