EdgeUno Uses Ciena’s WaveLogic 5 Nano 400ZR Pluggables to Improve Connectivity in Brazil and Mexico
EdgeUno, an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) company in Latin America, upgraded its data center interconnect network using Ciena’s Waveserver 5 platform. This compact interconnect platform is powered by WaveLogic 5 Nano (WL5n) 400ZR coherent pluggables which is the lowest-power, highest performing 400ZR as of yet in the industry.
EdgeUno’s customers in Mexico and Brazil will now have a more reliable and scalable network. With Ciena’s WL5n 400ZR solution the company has increased its network capacity from 200G channels to 400G per channel, reduced its energy consumption as well as its carbon footprint by optimizing data center space, and amped up its cloud service offerings.
Tiago Setti, the Director of Network Engineering at EdgeUno, recently stated that by using WaveLogic technology helps meet customers’ digital demands including high-speed gaming, live video streaming, and cloud-based services. Using WaveLogic also helps the company meet its sustainability commitments.
By utilizing Ciena’s technology, EdgeUno uses a smaller portion of power and space and gains twice the bandwidth per wavelength when compared to the previous network technology the company was using. EdgeUno is also making use of Ciena’s compact Coherent ELS open line system to gain lower latency and operational simplicity to deliver a higher quality experience to its customers.
EdgeUno has customer satisfaction at the forefront of the company’s agenda, and by using Ciena’s WaveLogic technology it is meeting its customers’ demands and expectations.
