Allied Telesis recently announced the release of its newTQ6702 GEN2-R wireless AP router. Built with high-security and high-performance in mind, the device is a combination of a Wi-Fi 6 (802. 11ax) access point and a VPN router. With its all-in-one design it provides a simple, comprehensive network for small businesses or enterprises with multiple locations.
The TQ6702 GEN2-R can be managed remotely via Vista Manager, the company’s network automation and management platform, for quick installation and automated network monitoring. The product aims to be easy to use with its rapid setup and automatic Wi-Fi tuning, and also includes QR-codes that can be scanned for guests to connect. The VPN router portion of the product gives secure connectivity between sites and DPI Rule Sharing aids with firewall rules and configuration.
An additional feature of the TQ6702 GEN2-R includes the ability to manage customer and staff Wi-Fi usage with a captive portal which would require new users to authenticate at a login page before getting online access. The router also has a zone-based firewall to protect users’ online access and prevent business leaks while connected to the internet.
Regarding the VPNs, they are IPSec site-to-site that connect branch locations to the head-office and SSL/TLS remote worker which gives secure access to digital business resources. Finally, another useful feature of the TQ6702 GEN2-R is the automatic backup of all units using AMF Plus Network Automation.
