Moxa achieves IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 for two of its routers.

Moxa recently announced the world’s first IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 (SL2) certification for industrial secure routers, which was awarded for its EDR-G9010 and TN-4900 Series. By achieving this certification Moxa has shown that it is a global leader in industrial networking with networking and OT cybersecurity with layered defense-in-depth protection solutions. Some of Moxa’s solutions are security-hardened devices based on the IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity standards, OT network segmentation with threat prevention, and tailored OT deep packet inspection (DPI) realizing industrial intrusion prevention system (IPS).

Moxa recognizes the rise of industrial cyber threats and consistently puts its products through validation processes. The EDR-G9010 Series and TN-4900 Series utilize the Moxa Router Operating System (MX-ROS), the company’s software platform for industrial security routers and firewalls. The latest version of the software, MX-ROS 3.0, provides security protection and user-friendly operational procedures due to the simplified web and Command Line Interfaces (CLI). MX-ROS also offers a bevy of cross-industry Operational Technology (OT) network management features.

With security functions based on the IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity standard, the EDR-G9010 and TN-4900 Series are solutions in the automation and railway industries, easing data connectivity and offering advanced security features. These include an intrusion prevention system (IPS), intrusion detection system (IDS), and more to ensure industrial network security. These secure routers make sure there are stable operations, preventing threats from growing throughout the network.
