AMG Releases the World’s Smallest, Full-Featured Industrial Media Converter
The smallest, durable media converter out there
The U.K. and U.S. recently released the AMG260M industrially hardened, ultra-compact fiber optic Gigabit Ethernet media converter. The AMG260M is available as both non-PoE models and PoE models with IEEE802.3at 30W or IEEE802.3bt 60/90W PoE or PoE-powered models.
The PoE PSE models are good for powering high-power requirement PoE IP devices in challenging applications that need equipment to be industrially hardened and immune from temperature, shock, and vibration. There is also a PoE PD-powered model available for installation in locations without any local power.
Features of the AMG260M
The AMG260M models are produced in a “rugged, thermally efficient enclosure designed to be DIN-Rail, wall mounted, or with an industry-first magnetic mount option.” All models are fully hardened and can operate outside in IP-rated housing and in extreme temperatures. The line has integrated smart functionality that gives the user a multitude of field-selectable intelligent features including link-fault pass-through, remote device reset, and extended distance mode for the copper cable.
The product is designed to connect IP equipment to Ethernet networks that need optical fiber to achieve longer transmission distances. It uses a dual-speed 100Mb/1Gb SFP port for connectivity and the company offers a range of SFPs for fiber, connector type, and distance. The media converters are designed in the U.S. and U.K. and manufactured in an ISO9001-certified U.K. facility, are NEMA approved and are fully TAA and NDAA compliant and can be utilized in all US Government installations.
