Belden expands KeyConnect line with new media box, patch panel

Belden has introduced its new KeyConnect 6-Port Media Box and KeyConnect Front Access Patch Panel.

Belden has introduced its new KeyConnect 6-Port Media Box and KeyConnect Front Access Patch Panel.

The company says the new media box reduces installation work time in dynamic environments, and also saves labor and test time with its pre-terminated, out-of-the-box plug-and-play option. The product is billed as is ideal for high-traffic, high-contaminant areas, such as gaming environments, where flexibility and multi-side box access is required. The unit's durable cover design makes it superior to competitive boxes, claims Belden; its wide opening in the back, with included cable tie, allows for compatibility with a range of cable types.

“Our KeyConnect 6-Port Media Box provides the maximum flexibility in its design, and can also be sold as part of a pre-terminated assembly for plug-and-play right out of the box,” comments Belden product line manager Kristen Poulos.

Separately, the company says the new KeyConnect patch panel offers single port modularity that simplifies network maintenance. Belden says the KeyConnect Front Access Patch Panels are ideal for small space LAN environments that have limited space at the rear of the panel. The product is available in 2U 72-port configuration for high-density applications, as well as in regular 1U 24-port and 2U 48-port models. Each panel comes packaged with front loading bezel clips that are compatible with all KeyConnect modules. Separate labeling kits and extra 24-packs of bezels are also available.

“Sometimes, great products are borne out of great customer input. The KeyConnect Front Access Patch Panel was designed specifically for our customers who asked for a solution when space was limited in the rear of the panel,” adds Belden's Poulos.
