Stewart Connector’s StackJack RJ45 ports are available in stacked 2-, 4-, 8-, 12- and 16-port configurations
Stewart Connector offers a new series of double-row StackJack RJ45 connectors with LED indicator lights. The connectors are available in configurations of 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 ports. They are part of Stewart Connector’s SS-74500 series. “Our space-saving StackJack modular jacks offer the most features for maximum reliability and performance you need for today’s high-density networking and telecommunications equipment,” the company said when introducing the product.
“This product increases end-user port density in 1-Gigabit Ethernet applications while providing LEDs within each port as visual indicators,” Stewart continued. “This product features LEDs in both upper and lower ports that can be single or bi-colored in numerous color configurations. A typical application for LEDs in RJ45 connectors is to indicate link and data status.”
Most often found as components embedded within Ethernet networking gear, these connectors offer what Stewart describes as its enhanced shielding, which the company says provides optimum protection against electromagnetic interference. It also includes panel tabs that “provide a high normal force for superior shielding effectiveness,” the company noted. “The longer springs allow repeated insertions and withdrawals from a panel, and prevent ‘fish hooking’ on the panel during insertion.”
