Clearfield Inc. recently expanded its FieldSmart Fiber Delivery Point (FDP) product line by introducing the DIN Rail Cassette Mounting Kit. The company calls the kit “an ideal solution when productivity is dependent upon communications efficiency and reliability but where, due to unique location and space challenges, the solution must provide maximum system reliability and flexibility.” It says the kit is ideal where space is at a premium because it allows customers to bring fiber management to areas previously unreachable.
The DIN Rail Cassette Mounting Kit is equipped with a bracket that accepts one or two Clearview Blue fiber cassettes for up to 24 ports of connectivity. “When more than 12 ports are needed, adding ports is as easy as sliding a second cassette onto the rail kit bracket,” Clearfield adds. “TH Din rail kit mounts with a simple, snap-on motion and can be mounted vertically, horizontally or with adapters facing out, with no specialty bulkheads needed.”
Carole Nickelson, inside plant product manager at Clearfield, commented, “The DIN Rail Cassette Mounting Kit exemplifies Clearfield’s dedication to creating custom solutions for our customers and in this case, for space-constrained areas where versatile mounting options are needed. Customers can now provide patch-and-splice, patch-only, and plug-and-play options, and install Clearview Blue Cassettes in areas they were not able to before.”
The cassette kit is suitable for a variety of networking applications, Clearfield said, and can be used anywhere DIN rail is installed—including industrial and transportation locations and oil-and-gas markets. It also can be applied for general use in enterprise and customer-premises spaces.
