The Intact solution now extends monitoring beyond the telecom room all the way to the desktop, detecting active equipment throughout the channel, Leviton says.
Intact, Leviton's Intelligent Port Management System, now provides asset-management capabilities by extending monitoring beyond the telecom room, detecting the presence of active equipment throughout the channel.
Leviton unveiled new capabilities for its Intact Intelligent Port Management System, specifically asset-management capabilities that enable users to detect the presence of active equipment throughout the channel. Intact now offers this new capability in addition to its traditional ability to monitor network port status, manage network changes and send real-time alerts.
Mark Dearing, Leviton senior product manager, commented, “Intact now helps IT organizations keep track of their hardware from the equipment room to the work area with complete channel and device status information. Along with detecting physical connections at the network switch or patch area, this update adds additional reporting capabilities for customers such as patch cord inventory and detailed channel and equipment mapping. This can offer quick confirmation that computers, telephones and other network devices are in place and connected to the network.”
Leviton says the Intact software update allows IT managers to access end-to-end channel circuits, view a graphical display of selected channel circuits, manually enter device information, and receive automatic detection updates for specified circuits and devices.
