EnGenius Technologies (Costa Mesa, CA) has announced the availability of its EGS7228P 24-port Gigabit PoE+ Layer 2 managed switch with 4 dual-speed SFP interfaces.

The new EGS7228P, which supports IEEE 802.3at/af PoE+ on all 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports, is optimized to enable the quick deployment of EnGenius’ growing line of long-range, high-performance, high-density indoor and outdoor wireless access points, as well as the company’s upcoming range of indoor and outdoor IP video cameras.

Featuring a non-blocking architecture and delivering up to 56 Gbps switching capacity, the EGS7228P incorporates four SFP slots that enable connectivity via fiber uplinks to extend the network over longer distances or to provide uplink redundancy and failover. Target applications include businesses, schools, resorts and hotels that are expanding their network deployments, says EnGenius.
