Data Center Journal has published its list of a "fast five ways to a high-efficiency data center," a round-up of best practices and technologies crucial to operating an optimally efficient facility.

Bob Mobach, director of data centers at Logicalis and the article's author, recommends focusing on specific improvements that can be made to existing data centers as the best way to effect the greatest technological impact in an organization.

The five tips include the following: "Implement strategies for sun-setting technology; Rationalize the data center network; Optimize the data center; Move strategic aspects of the data center environment to a cloud model; Outsource for efficiency with managed services and IT automation."
