Dual-gang wallplate houses analog, digital video connections

Oct. 9, 2012
FSR’s Digital/Analog Wallplate Interface can auto-switch between analog and digital inputs.

The Digital/Analog Wallplate Interface from FSR, part of the company’s Digital Video product family, fits in a standard two-gang electrical box and accepts HDMI or DVI input, computer video and analog stereo audio. The wallplate will auto-switch between the analog and digital inputs, FSR explains, or it can be manually switched from the front of the interface. The output is HDMI via Category 5e or Category 6 cable, and can transmit 1080p up to 165 feet.

The interface has a dual Decora faceplate available in white, black and ivory. FSR says the plate aids in the design of AV systems that incorporate legacy analog as well as digital video. “The DV family, aimed at professional installations requiring HDMI support, reduces the integration challenges inherent in the deployment of digital video systems,” the company says.
