New Antaira Ethernet Extension Kit Can Be Used for Long-Reach PoE and Data Transmission

April 4, 2024
Antaira’s LEP-401M-KIT extender has a multitude of industrial uses and can withstand harsh environments and temperatures.

Antaira Technologies released a turnkey solution kit that extends 10/100 Ethernet and 802.3 PoE over UTP copper cabling up to 800 meters. Antaira’s LEP-401M-KIT LAN extenders eradicates the requirement of a local power supply, and are best suited for deploying remote PoE (15W) and PoE+ (30W) powered devices, including IP surveillance cameras, access points, and VoIP phones, past the 100-meter distance limitations of Ethernet cabling.

The LEP-401M-KIT has a long-reach transceiver and receiver which both have IP30-rate metal enclosures and can withstand harsh conditions and a wide temperature range (-40° to 75° C), as well as any required hardware for wall mounting. The company claims, “There is no easier way to tackle the challenges of extending Ethernet infrastructure in industrial automation, traffic surveillance, city-wide security, and many military and utility applications where environmental conditions exceed commercial product specifications.”

The extender is supported by 55-57VDC and the transceiver has one RJ-45 10/100 Ethernet port with Auto MDI/MDIX and a single PoE injector port, while the receiver utilizes one RJ-45 PoE/PSE port and one PoE extender port with auto-negotiation technology. The front and back panels of the product have diagnostic LEDs that show local operation status and aid technicians in troubleshooting network issues.
