Customizable Network Interface Devices

LYNN’s new TheNID products have interchangeable parts and can be individually engraved.

LYNN recently extended its TheNID product line of network interface devices. TheNID Line Extension “is designed with interchangeable parts, offering endless options,” the company said when introducing the new addition to its portfolio.

“With multiple box options, a complete line of interchangeable accessories, and futureproof configurations, TheNID adapts seamlessly to any site,” said Charles Hoskins, the company’s vice president of product development. “Time-saving features such as the patent-pending cable entry clamp and enhanced protective grommet make installation easier, while custom engraving adds a personal touch.”

All TheNID products include rear gasket entry for pull-through of up to 1-inch conduit; a cable-entry clamp to keep cables in place during install; a lid gasket to keep bugs and moisture out; a customizable back grid for interchangeable configurations; and a snap-shut door.

The product line includes the following four models.

  • TheNID Choice/D1, which the company characterizes as “small in size,” adding that it “reduces cost of install.”
  • TheNID Compact/D2, which LYNN says has a “compact design for a low-profile look,” with a “fully customizable backplate for any job” and a “large area for slack storage.”
  • TheNID Mid/D3, which is “larger in size” according to LYNN, with a patent-pending splice tray that fits inside, along with slack storage. This product “protects your fiber with no raw fiber exposed,” extending the life of the install.
  • TheNID/86, which is the original product in the line. This product now features the new enhancements LYNN has made. It is available in four stocked variations, including Rell, ONT, Splice, and LGX.

LYNN’s director of sales Lori Ransbottom commented TheNID product line “was designed to simplify outdoor fiber-optic cabling based on customer feedback, and we’re thrilled to offer these fully customizable solutions.”
