The Auckland, New Zealand colo facility delivered a low-loss connection through several floors of a commercial building.

A technical note available for download from us here at Cabling Installation & Maintenance describes how a colocation data center facility provided a low-loss fiber connection to a local customer that demanded high capacity. The colo facility, Data Center 220, is located in Auckland, New Zealand and offers 77 network providers along with 6 internet exchanges. The carrier-neutral colo is recognized as the country’s most-connected data center.

The note describes the customer’s specific needs as well as the architecture in the customer’s premises—a commercial building. It further details the innovative, splice-free very-small-form-factor fiber-connectivity technology that Data Center 220 chose to ensure it could deliver the capacity and performance the customer required.
