Nokia recently announced its launch of Broadband Easy, the company’s digital platform and various services that aid operators in streamlining and accelerating the deployment of fiber. Broadband Easy gives operators visibility and control of the whole fiber rollout process, and advanced automation and AI models are used to ensure design, installations, and project cost are optimized.
Nokia points out that the primary challenge for operators is rolling out fiber in large capacities to rural or underserved areas. According to a McKinsey report, by digitalizing the fiber rollout process operators can save 10 to 25 percent in savings through the efficiency of the process, automation, and AI technologies.
Nokia’s digital platform digitalizes the fiber deployment process and provides a modular platform that can be integrated into existing IT stacks. “Operators can use Broadband Easy to centrally manage the fiber deployment process, control the subcontractors and mitigate risks. Additional automation features help to optimize design and field activities by real time data exchange, certifying the fiber plant, and generating accurate inventory data.” Through the utilization of Broadband Easy’s AI models, the quality of field installations is increased by using AI to confirm and accept the installation of components, provide on-site training to field techs, and more.
Broadband Easy comes pre-integrated with Nokia’s Altiplano Access Controller and Design Center.
