Panduit Mourns Passing of Former President, CEO Caveney

Jack E. Caveney Jr., who founded Panduit’s data communications division, died of cancer on April 12 at the age of 74.

Panduit Corp. recently announced the passing of Jack E. Caveney Jr., who in his career served as the company’s president, chief executive officer, and chairman of the board. He passed away on April 12, 2025 after a cancer battle. He was 74 years old.

Caveney Jr. “began his career in the electrical industry in 1974, serving industrial accounts, electrical contractors, ad original equipment manufacturers,” Panduit recalled in its announcement of his passing. “He also owned and managed an electrical distributor business until 1982 when he joined Panduit.”

Throughout his career at Panduit, Caveney Jr. served in roles including national sales manager, director of product management, as well as founder and head of the company’s data communications division. He eventually took over as president, CEO, and chairman of the board. He served as a member of Panduit’s board of directors until his passing.

Current board chairman Andrew Caveney stated, “Jack was an integral part of the growth and success of the company, and his dedication to Panduit customers, distribution partners, and employees never wavered. He genuinely cherished the friendships he built over the years. He will be very much missed.”
