Network infrastructure products manufacturer Wirewerks (Montreal, QC) has introduced a new drawer-style 1U rack-mount fiber enclosure designed to manage, protect and provide slack storage for up to 144F (72 duplex patch cords) in just 1U of rack space.
Wirewerks says its Cable Management Tray (CMT) platform provides for easy, efficient fiber patch cord management in broadband, data center and premise network applications.
The company adds that the CMT’s high fiber count and high-capacity slack management allows network managers to create neat, manageable fiber patch fields without the provisioning, inventory, and cost issues typically associated with "exact-length" patch cord management strategies.
The CMT is designed to eliminate slack storage issues in vertical managers and provides horizontal cable management and routing with cable entry/exit on both sides of the enclosure.
Meanwhile, critically important fiber bend-radius protection is achieved through the CMT’s patent-pending V-shaped primary entry/exit routing guides. These guides allow the CMT’s sliding drawer to fully open and close while maintaining proper bend-radius and strain-relief at all times, without the need for entry/exit slack loops.
According to Edd Tabet, Wirewerks’ VP of engineering, “The CMT provides neat, efficient fiber patch cord management in high-density applications without the headaches and expense of using exact-length cords.”
