ShowMeCables’ has released two dozen models of 42U server rack cabinets that fit standard 19-inch-wide components including PDUs, servers, patch panels, and routers. Among the cabinets' many uses, they are best suited for data networking, IT, and audiovisual.

The new models have “pro features” such as a 3,000-pound capacity, all-steel construction, and adjustable rail depths. Cabinets can be tailored to a customer's needs, with the main options being: three exterior depths, a heat-tempered glass or vented-metal locking front door, a top panel that is either compatible with a fan or has cable openings, and a black or white finish.

The 42U server cabinets’ feature a welded structure finished with a heavy-duty cold rolled steel exterior and a powder coating. The cabinet complies with EIA/ECA-310-E, HIPAA, and PCI. The equipment mounting rails are square hole/cage nut style with RU stenciling, and all the equipment mounting hardware comes included.

The three exterior depth options are 31.5, 39, or 47 inches. The rail depths are adjustable in 10 mm increments and can be set as shallow as 6 inches. The equipment mounting rail depths can be expanded up to 21.5, 29.5, or 37.5 inches.

On the rear of the cabinets are twin locking French doors with each side being accessible through top and bottom locking panels, this is so that a large panel doesn’t have to be removed.

“Our EIA 19-inch 42U cabinets have the capacity and quality needed to complete high-density applications,” said Product Line Manager Tim Houghton. “They offer strength, security, adjustable depths, color options, cooling features and easy access to equipment.”
